Annual Lake Tyers Fishing Comp. 16th-17th Nov.
LAKE TYERS TRIP.
OUR ANNUAL TRIP TO LAKE TYERS IS ON AGAIN ON THE 16TH AND 17TH OF NOVEMBER.
All members intending to go should notify Di Cunningham on 0458515483 or Peter McCoy Snr on 0408368378. We will be meeting again at the Waterwheel Tavern on the Friday night at 6PM, and we need to know numbers.
All food on Saturday and Sunday will be provided by the club, this includes cooked breakfasts, cut lunch, and barbecue tea on Saturday night.
We have some cabins booked , but might have to book more depending on numbers.
Hope to see you there as it is a fun weekend.
BEMM RIVER ANGLING CLUB EASTER REPORT
Members and visitors were treated to good weather and excellent fishing. A little bit of wind in the afternoon sessions did little to change the quality of the bags coming in.
Bream were taking frozen Prawn, and Sandworm, and most were well oversize.
This has been the most productive competition this club has ever had.
Notable catches were a 44cm Luderick, and an over 40cm Bream, both returned to the water. The use of the Brag Mats are being phased in, with great results.
The Surf produced some big Salmon, Taylor and a Mullet, which turned out to be the winner in the Open Surf Competition.
All sections were secret weight, and we wish to thank our list of sponsors.

About seventy people took part in the barbecue and presentation after the weigh in on Sunday afternoon.
Competition for a large Tackle Box was won by John Roberts.
We wish to thank all those involved in helping to make our Easter Competition a great success.
THE JACK PURVIS BREAM CLASSIC
THIS EVENT IS SPONSORED BY THE PURVIS FAMILY (. AUSSIE DISPOSALS ) All anglers are welcome to take part in this great weekend.
Anglers will be fishing for the heaviest Bream, and they can be returned to the water.
Other prizes will be of secret weight for all sections.
A barbecue will be held on Saturday night, followed by the presentation of all prizes.
WE LOOK FORWARD TO THIS WONDERFUL DAY, AND HOPE TO SEE EVERYONE TAKE PART.
Stratford Angling Club
The Angling Club are hosting Stratford Angling Club on the 17th and 18th of February , and we hope to see members supporting this weekend to compete for the shield.
A final presentation and barbecue will be held on Sunday the 18th at 12 PM
Approximately 40 members enjoyed a wonderful weekend at Lake Tyers on the 17th and 18th of November.
Members met at The Waterwheel Tavern for a get together on the Friday night, and fished on Saturday, with the weigh in at 6pm.
A barbecue followed by a short meeting was held , and enjoyed by all.
Brag mats were used for the first time in recording large Flathead that were caught and released. The longest measured was 84 cms caught by Tony Blackford.
Fishing was much improved than last year, and bank anglers enjoyed good Bream fishing at Mill Point. Most anglers weighed in fish, and secret weights applied to all other sections. All members could weigh in one Bream and one other specie for the day.
Brendon Loois was the winner of the boys section for Bream, and John Roberts was the winner of any other specie.Di Cunningham won the ladies secret weight.
The club would like to thank all the sponsors for their generous donations of prizes.

On Saturday the 4th of March, the Bemm River Angling Club shared an historic day with 52 members and guests at Bemm River.
80 years of commercial free fishing was recognised at a wonderful evening held at the community centre.
Four members of the Purvis family were present, including Bill Purvis with his son Mark, as well as George Purvis and his son Craig.
Alan Morrison and his wife Peg were also guests of the Angling Club.
The Purvis family were presented with a beautiful plaque in recognition of Jack Purvis.
Photos were displayed that gave all visitors an indication of the early fishing history at Bemm River.
A large cake was jointly cut by Bill Purvis and Alan Morrison.
THE PURVIS CLASSIC fishing competition was held , and the winner was John Roberts.
This event was sponsored by the Purvis family ( Aussie Disposals ) and all prizes were presented by Mark.

Marlo Fishing Comp:
MARLO AND BEMM RIVER FISHING COMPETITION 4th and 5th March. Marlo and Bemm River Angling Clubs enjoyed excellent fishing over the weekend. Marlo won the shield, with Graham Johnson landing a lovely Bream, 990 gms.

Final weigh in will be on Sunday (19th) lunch time at Luderick Point . A BBQ lunch will be provided, and the shield will be presented to the winning club.
LAKE TYERS FISHING TRIP
18/19 th NOVEMBER.
Bemm River angling club held its annual Lake Tyers fishing comp over the 18/19th november. It was such a fantastic turn out by all members who had a great time on the lake. Fishing was very slow but the weather and company was great! Thanks to all members who chipped in and helped make the weekend one to remember. Special mention to the bbq and comittee meeting on the saturday night where the club got to celebrate with many members who are from out of town.
Bemm River Angling Club held its Easter competition at Bemm over the weekend.
All sections were secret weight, and entrants weighed in one Bream and one other specie per day. Some lovely Bream and Salmon were the feature of the competition.

BEMM RIVER VS MARLO FISHING COMPETITION 5/6 MARCH 2016
Bemm River Angling Club hosted Marlo on the 5th and 6th of March in their annual competition for the heaviest Bream.
Good quality Bream were landed over the two days, and Bemm retained the shield with a Bream weighing in at 999 gms caught by John Pedersen. Marlo angler Daryl Ducksbury weighed in a Bream 914 gms and Doug Medson landed one 814 gms.
Secret weight for Bemm was won by Di Cunningham with a Bream 826 gms.
After the weigh in a light lunch was enjoyed on the hotel verandah.

BEMM RIVER STRATFORD FISHING COMPETITION 20/21 FEB. 2016
Bemm River and Stratford held their annual heaviest Bream competition at Bemm this weekend. On Saturday good fish were weighed in by both clubs, and Paul Schofield of Stratford led the competition with a Bream of 852 gms.
Sunday was sunny, and a wind from the east got up. Most anglers had good fishing using sandworm local prawn and spider crab.
A good number of Bream were weighed in, and Bemm angler John Pedersen was successful with a Bream weighing in at 874 gms. Bemm River retains the shield for 2016 displayed in the Bemm River Hotel.
Bemm River A/C had a secret weight competition, and it was won by Barry Easy.
A light lunch was enjoyed by all on the balcony of the Bemm Hotel. Many thanks to those who helped in making the weekend a great success.

New Years Fishing Competition:
A successful club competition was held on the 2nd and 3rd of January. Despite some windy weather, 43 fish were weighed in, and prizes were won in all sections.
A light lunch was enjoyed by members on the hotel verandah, after the presentations took place. It was great to see the juniors joining in the competition .
