The Lake filled and was opened on September the 8th, but closed less than 2 weeks later on about the 19th of September. The season seems to be changing to a drier period, which could mean that the Lake will take a month or more to fill.
The water has taken a long time to clear up, but conditions are improving and the Bream are biting in the River as well as in the Lake. Sandworm seems to be attracting the most bites, but it is a real challenge. There have been a few fathead landed ,mainly on the lures. This is early to be catching Flathead, and is a good indication of the very unusual year so far.
The Surf has been quiet, just a few Salmon being landed, but now that the beaches are settling down, better catches should come along.
The East Gippsland Shire have repaired the boat ramp and this will improve boat handling for the time being .
