Fishing report 22/10/13
Spring has offered many wild days during October however anglers have started to be rewarded with many catching their bag limit from the river.
Very cold water conditions seems to be affecting the lake, but as the water is now starting to warm up Bream are being found up towards Siberia.
It’s very noticeable when the water gets to around 10c we have found the Bream goes off the bite.
Luderick can be found in the sand in front of the channel. I’ve had good results using sand worm on a size 2 hook & a 2g jig head. Casting close to the weed is the best & while moving you will find the luderick. I’ve been surprised how many good bream have been caught on the same rig.
The surf has been affected by the strong winds & on the good days crabs are so thick they are side to side in the channel.
The channel remains to be open at this time but there appears to be some sanding up which holds up a really good water level.
Getting into the river at this time is no problem which is a luxury at this time. This makes the river the best option from now on particularly in the late afternoon.
Wednesday 30/10/13 is a big day for the Hobie World Championship’s, being in Bemm River on day 1 with the final day being at Marlo.
Our community is providing a sausage sizzle lunch , I am looking forward to the weigh in at 1pm as they put on a professional show.
