March 27th fishing report
The lake has risen due to some heavy rain in February. As the fresh water entered the prawns vanished. It has been pretty good fishing, bream are taking frozen prawn however finding the patches of bream can be challenging, out from the playground all the way west is good value.
I move around a lot to avoid the smaller as bait pinchers can take your bait in a couple of minutes. I was pleased to get some quality bream out in the middle, weather permitting I will be spending more time out there. If the wind gets up over Easter I will be looking for shelter in the reeds along the edges.
Just by good luck the flathead are in patches around the edges with wrigglers working well, so I expect some good bags of flathead.
Salmon & Taylor have been keeping beach Anglers happy with maybe the catch of the year landed by Matt Landy this week, Matt caught a School shark well over 1.5mt. the shark was released & was estimated to be 30kg. see the photo on our face book page.
The Foreshore Management Draft has been issued, a public consultation was held on the 18th of March, 8 members attended which was a god turnout for our club. Very little interest from locals, obviously they are happy with the draft.
