BEMM RIVER FISHING REPORT 16/3/16
The Lake remains closed and is about half full. We have had a very dry month and a half, with many calmer days prevailing.
Local fresh or frozen prawn remain the favoured bait. Live prawn can be dipped, and are more prominent down the channel. These prawn are still small, and only good bait size.
The channel has fished well for Bream, Flathead, Trevally and Taylor. Visitors are having great success catching Bream all over the Lake, and it has been very busy, particularly this long weekend.
Hard body lures are proving to be very good value in the shallows, and good Bream and Flathead can be had on the drift. Plastics like the bloodworm wriggler have been used in the deeper sections of the Lake and Channel.
The weather has been great for surf fishing, and a few Salmon and Taylor are coming in. Pilchards and poppers producing the best results.
