The Lake remains open, and recent heavy rain has caused the river to flow at an elevated level.
With the water very brown, some good catches have been coming in off the fishing platform.
The Lake is fishing well for Bream. Local frozen prawn has worked well, and lure anglers are having excellent catches. Just a few Flathead reported, and most of them are coming from the shallows.
The channel is worthwhile, as there have been some big yellow eye Mullet landed during the run in tide. Trolling for Taylor has also been productive.
The extended period of the lake being open has emphasised just how unique the season continues to be. The prawn season might be affected by the influx of fresh water, and only time will give an indication if there will be a successful prawn season.
With the cool summer prevailing, it has been a pretty good start to the year, and a great time to be fishing the Bemm.
