During my last visit to Bemm River which was over the Australia day weekend, we enjoyed some amazing soft plastic and lure fishing. We fished all over Sydemham inlet from Sybria, to the playground out the front of the farm house and across to the River mouth.
All areas produced quality Bream but it was on Friday afternoon when all the action started. A strong easterly picked up which stopped us from launching our boat. Marlon my son aged 6 thought it was a great opportunity to fish off the new jetty.
Waves lapped over the boards and onto the rock wall, as we baited up fresh prawn. We cast and waited to see what would happen. I used my soft plastic outfit with a Wasabi 100ml Wriggler and cast along the rock wall and pillars. After about 5 casts I got a solid hit. Then after a good solid fight I landed a beautiful Bream. We rushed it down to Marks shop to weigh him and it was 3lb 3oz, my best for the weekend. There was excitement in the air and after a few photos we returned him back to the waters.
We then hooked and landed 2 more – Marlon hauling one in.
