BEMM RIVER ANGLING REPORT. 9/8/18
The Lake remains open, and this week the weather has been very dry and windy.
The River has given anglers some shelter, as well as some good fishing.
There has been an influx of Luderick into the system with the entrance open, something we haven't seen in the last number of years. Luderick have been caught up at Dolly’s Garden, and the platform behind the Farmhouse. They have spread out around the Lake, as well as down the Channel. Sandworm the best bait for the Luderick, and local worm is available at Bemm Bait and Tackle.
Good reports of Bream being landed on Sandworm. Best areas are the River Mouth, and the Mahogany’s. The River is always a challenge, due to the hidden logs and snags to lose your tackle on.
It has been great to see some anglers rewarded for their efforts in landing the Luderick, and despite poor weather conditions, we have had a very productive week.
Not a lot to report on the Surf, due to windy conditions.
Looking forward to an improvement in the weather, as I am sure there is some great fishing out there to be had. DON CUNNINGHAM
