Fishing report 1/8/13
Had a great couple of weeks fishing, with good results from both lures & bait. The lake remains open & there are a few Salmon coming in. not quite on yet a few hook ups but hard to get them in. I’ve had 10 on but only landed 2.
Bushy has been down & has fished with Mark & had some cracker Bream quite a few over 40cm with Trevally & Taylor mixed in. I did this a few years ago & look forward to having a go for them.
Club member Stan Baker has been with me & we have found local prawn & cured sand worm is attracting good fish on each outing.
Club members should be aware that there is an urgent situation evolving around the boat ramp. The concrete blocks are coming apart. Our latest meeting which was called to organize our response to the Foreshore Management Plan members present at the meeting supported a fellow members suggestion that a pontoon supported above the minimum height which would meet some of our needs.
A letter has been sent to councillors advising them of our concerns. As of this week council are sending a crew to make repairs to the ramp, there maybe some interruption to Anglers at times however it is intended that the repairs will be done one ½ at a time to minimize our concerns.
An invitation to all Councillors has been made on behalf of Bemm River Angling Club & Bemm River Progress Association, this was emailed, hopefully they can see firsthand what we need.
